Young Women

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What should I pack for camp?

  2. Where is camp being held?

    • Camp is being held at El Shaddai Camp located in Yorktown, Texas. More info about our camp venue here.

  3. Can I bring my phone, I use it for scriptures?

    • We ask that you leave your phone at home for camp but we understand that it’d be nice to have for coordinating with parents for the drive there and back. If you choose to bring your phone, it will be checked-in to your Cabin Mom at check-in and returned to you at check-out. If a young woman feels she needs to communicate with her parent while at camp, that can be arranged with the Cabin Mom. We ask that everyone bring a paper copy of the scriptures for studying.

  4. Will there be pranks allowed at camp?

    • We will not allow pranks at camp. We have seen this lead to intense hurt in the past. There will be a lot of fun at camp and if girls are wanting to enjoy being secretive we invite them perform secret acts of service.

  5. My daughter has a medication that she takes regularly, how will that be handled?

    • Medications need to be sent with the young woman to camp in their original, labeled bottle. All medications will be checked-in with the camp nurse and returned at check-out. Times for medication administration will be scheduled directly between the young woman and the camp nurse.

  6. What is the Dress Code?

    • Please see the section on modesty in the For The Strength of Youth pamphlet.
